Nothing hurts more than doing something for someone out of love and them simply not appreciating it. I went through it this very week. Story time!

So, this week was a week of so much research for me. And in the midst of researching I found this amazing app used to edit videos, needed it because I am coming to YouTube SOON. I decided to try it out and I edited a friend’s video. I loved the outcome and out of excitement I decided to show her.

Keep in mind I had zero intent to put it out, at least not without her consent. So I sent it to her, I didn’t get what I expected to get and God did it sting! My heart broke, and I started questioning myself for even doing it in the first place. Bu, why don’t you stay in your lane? At some point I felt like I was not good enough..

The lesson in this was : You are not responsible for anyone else’s actions but yours. We need to embed this in our minds so much so that we sing it automatically. If you do good and you receive backlash for it, it’s not your fault! Do not question your deed and blame yourself for the next person’s action’s, they did that all by themselves. They made a conscious decision to do it.

Yes, it will upset you. It will hurt you but the important thing to remember is that their actions are not on you. They are on them. It is human for you to feel hurt by their actions, it is a mistake to take it personally. Taking things personally has you thinking more on what the person thinks about you and less about what you think about yourself.

It’s none of your business what they think about you. NONE! Your business is what you think about yourself. Your business is looking in the mirror and seeing a great you at work everyday. It is your business to build yourself up and becoming a better person everyday. If the next person does not appreciate you the way you are, IT IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM!

One of the most important things you need to do to stay on top of things is to know your triggers. Remember what I always say, what people say or do is a reflection of them and not you. So the moment you know what triggers your emotions, you know how to respond in such situations. Your response needs to be one that shows you know your worth! Once you respond, let it go. You don’t need that energy in your life.

I almost allowed this to change my heart and not do little things for people. I was ready to close that door and be selfish, changing myself because of one incident, laugh with me please! Do you see what taking things personally does? I remembered my worth, I picked up my phone, let her know how it made me feel and let it go. Two minutes later all the feelings I carried around for days were gone!

Don’t burden yourself. Life is way too short. You need to concentrate on your well being, your happiness and your peace. You need to enjoy being yourself! Feel free to share your stories in the comment section! That’s all from me today,CIAO!
