AFRICA: STORIES FROM HOME (DAY 17)
This is yet another topic that leaves people very much heated up. It breaks friendships and relationships too, this is no secret. I for one have learnt overtime to ask people where they stand from the get go because assuming is a very dangerous thing with this issue here. What I never know to do is whether I should stay and just be or walk away because chances are we will clash on many things. In the Christian world it is only right to try to bring the person to Christ and in the ‘real’ world it is best to respect the person’s belief and walk away if you not comfortable. Each to his own, I go for this one every day of my life, it feels much much safer.
“YOUR GOD IS ABUSIVE!”
Why am I even here talking about this? Well last night I was in church and Pastor Chidozie Ezeadum (you can catch his sermons on AMEN TV, 24/7)said something very significant, he said and I quote, ‘we are Christians because of the promises but what we do not realize is the moment we take this step we have opened doors for war and this is why many leave because it seems as though the promises are false.’ And I thought could this be one of the reasons why people become atheist or as some put it just humans. People have said to me, ‘your God is abusive,’ or ‘your God enjoys seeing us suffer,’ or ‘what sort of love watches one get raped?’ Some women even believe that God diminishes women and it all started with Eve because from then we became the weaker ones to men. I know you see where that statement is going already. They acknowledge the existence of God, that means they tried Christianity. They tried to pray, to read the bible and because of the promises that never came to pass they walked away. Things got worse instead of better when they became Christians, the trials overloaded and the hurt hit from every corner. Instead of God becoming their saviour He became their infliction of pain and so they left angry. This happened to me too, I gave up at some point too but I went back because I wasn’t winning without God. Do the battles end, no they do not. God gave us promises but He also never said there won’t be trials. It is what you do when the trials come that matters, do you stand strong and fight or just look at the trial and be like, ‘wah wah!’ With or without God in your life, the trials will come, you and I both know its FACT!
“IT IS WORSE IN AFRICA WHERE AT SOME POINT WE GROW UP WITH THE WITCHES AND WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW IT.”
The one thing we ignore and forget is that against God are principalities of darkness. So for every Christian these forces engage to attack and destroy you because when they fight you they fight God. There is no denying that witchcraft lives, we all know this but why we think we are invincible to it, I still do not know. It is worse in Africa where at some point we grow up with the witches and we do not even know it. Sometimes they are there the day we are born and already they have done what they do best. So they are fighting against you when are a few hours old, what happens when you are 7 and can read the bible. When you know to call on GOD? Him who they too fear but still fight against by manipulating us. At times they come in the form of friends. If there is one thing I have learnt about witchcraft is once they have you they are monitoring you, it’s so ugly and yet true. I hate thinking about it, I even hate the idea that it could possibly be someone I love.
“HAVE YOU EVER BEEN FED WITHOUT SPEAKING OF HUNGER?”
How many cases have you heard where it then comes out that it was the mother, aunt, uncle, grandfather or grandmother that bewitched a person. For long life, for wealth or simply out of jealousy. Do you see how much closer your enemy could be? Another thing we do not realize is witches can see our potential, who we are meant to be, where we are meant to go, how successful we are meant to be and they can alter it if we are not fighting it. They are ready to trade sleep for our misery, any day and any time. I do not think there is a bunch of people more committed and disciplined as witches, I can give them that for sure. Have you ever been fed without speaking of hunger? Have you ever been healed without speaking about the sickness? Have you ever been soothed without speaking of the pain? I rest my case.
EACH TO HIS OWN, CIAO!
